South Yorskshire Music Hub Conference 2025

The South Yorkshire Music Hub (SYMH) is a bold new collaboration led by South Yorkshire’s Mayor Oliver Coppard, uniting the region’s four local Music Hubs in Barnsley, Doncaster, Rotherham and Sheffield.

Backed by Arts Council England and delivered through SYMCA, this partnership forms part of a wider national mission to ensure every child and young person has access to high-quality, inclusive music education.

The Ear Academy is proud to support this vision by providing schools across the region with engaging, curriculum-aligned tools that make music accessible for all.

Together with SYMH, we're helping to build confident teachers, inspired pupils and a stronger musical future for South Yorkshire.

The Ear Academy will be joining over 35,000 educators, innovators and changemakers at the world’s leading EdTech event. With 400+ speakers, 3,000 young voices and a global community united by one mission - better education for all - Bett 2026 promises to be bold, brilliant and unmissable.

The Ear Academy is on a mission to make music education more accessible, engaging and impactful for every classroom. Designed by teachers, for teachers, our platform empowers schools with ready-to-use, curriculum-aligned resources that bring music to life — no matter your level of musical training. From Grade R to Grade 12, we support educators in delivering high-quality, inclusive lessons that build confidence, creativity and a lifelong love of music in pupils.

Held from Friday 16 to Sunday 18 May 2025 at Trinity Academy in Bristol, this year’s MTA Conference brought together teachers, experts and industry partners under the theme Stronger Together. 

‍

Highlights included inspiring keynotes from Dr Jim Frankel (MusicFirst) and Mark De-Lisser, plus practical and discussion-led sessions on jazz in the classroom, KS3 development, sector changes and success for classroom musicians. 

‍

With 40 corporate exhibitors, vibrant evening socials and a packed programme, the weekend was a true celebration of connection, learning and community.
