The most rounded, grounded

music courses around.

The most rounded, grounded music courses around.

At The eAr Academy, your music education is fuller, richer, broader, deeper. It’s the complete beat.

We’ve designed our courses to be holistic and honed. Informational and inspirational. Rigorous, but not rigid.

Whether you’re beginning or brilliant, you can study at your own pace. You have structure, but with freedom to pick up at your own place. Learn from home, but never on your own, with backing tracks and our unique practice sessions, which we call Shedding Sessions.

With expert teachers who love what they do, it’s exceptional content made for you to love learning, too.

Courses start from $16/month, or try some coursework for free for 7 days. Want to get playing? Hit it.

Raising the bar

on music education.

Raising the bar on music education

If you want to learn or study music, there seem to be unlimited options, but all with limitations. Too far. Too expensive. Too rigid, or too loose. Good for only one instrument, or one musical style, or one level of proficiency. Accomplished here, but incomplete there.

Our courses are comprehensive and connected, designed to develop well-rounded musicians by including and integrating seven complementary facets of music: Tunes, Etudes, Exercises, Reading, Improvisation, Hearing, and Theory.

How courses are structured:

When we say "learn more", we really mean:

Your Earspace

You are eAr.

When you study at The eAr Academy, you get your own personal space – your eArspace – where all your coursework lives and all your learning happens. It’s the centre of your eAr experience – and you’re at its centre. Part studio, part practice room, part playground, it’s where you’ll start, pick up, and keep coming back to.

Finely tuned and humanly centred.

We believe that good teachers are highly skilled, but great teachers are student focussed. That’s why ours are well trained and finely tuned: we’ve chosen the best teachers we could find for each instrument, for each level, for our specific kind of musical education. All under the guidance and tutelage of our world-renowned educational director, Hein Van de Geyn.

An instrument For change

An instrument

for change.

We want to give the widest possible scope of people the greatest possible opportunity to be enriched and uplifted through music. So we’ve committed to making our courses available for free to organisations that want to use music as a developmental tool, but don’t have the resources.

Don't miss a beat.

Don't miss a beat.

As enriching as we hope our courses are, there’s so much good stuff to get into beyond them. We’re collating and curating a community space for you to connect, and to share interesting events and inspiring ideas.
